Some of our ancestors had the experience of being displaced from one land to another and losing touch with a culture or tradition that had previously been “home”. They built new lives but the old stories may live on, often in silence, touching us today with their echo.
This is an opportunity to honour and explore stories from those who came before us, perhaps to reframe some of them in a new light, to shower well-worn family myths with a sense of wonder – to anchor them in our humanity. Connecting to these stories can be a great source of strength and support for us now and a gift for the future.
Please bring with you an object or a story of an object related to your family to accompany us in this exploration.
Story-telling experience is beneficial but not essential. An open-hearted spirit of inquiry is all you need.
